Adrian was the Deputy Director of a local authority social services department for a number of years before joining the Social Services Inspectorate of the Department of Health as a special terms inspector.
He has a wide experience in the management and quality assurance of services for all the major client groups and is also a part-time lecturer in social services management. Adrian believes that management is the art of the possible and that organisational development requires challenges to be simplified and put on a human scale.

He operates a consultancy specialising in helping charities and voluntary sector organisations address issues of current concern to them; from strategy and option appraisal, through financial viability and income generation, to operational systems, staff and service development. He also offers an independent mentoring service to a small number of public sector senior and middle managers.
